Update 3.5
Started by xSpecimen197

As ya'll have noticed over the last few days we've encountered some lag spikes with the growing player base; which is both AWESOME and annoying due to the performance drops for those of you who have to deal with it. As of now, I've managed to isolate and fix a huge number of lag sources and optimize server settings. These include Redstone, Villagers, Tile / Misc Entities, etc. What does this mean for you?

It means that the guidelines we've always had will now be enforced more strictly. The general guidelines have been essentially "Build what you need, nothing more". Having 200 sheep in a small area is nonsense, for example. I will play a move active role in keeping MSPT in check from here on out.

  • Added a Farm Control plugin to automatically cull back mob farms. You may still have mob farms as you always have, but they will be scaled back to a more reasonable level.
  • Added Redstone limitations to block placement of redstone & redstone associated blocks after a certain amount.
  • Added Tile Entity controls to cull entities not associated with mobs. E.G Item Frames, Furnaces, Beehives, etc. Things that store data.
  • Optimized Paper config settings, removed some settings we didn't need / werent using.
  • Disabled redstone caching in Grief Defender (This was a huge problem).
  • Bats have been disabled.

NPCs:

  • You may have noticed our new friend Sparky in the Spawn already; he is there to help new players get started so we don't have to bombard people with information. He has his own menu telling players how to use super important commands like /rtp, /help, /kits, etc.
  • Sparky is charged and watches your every move
  • This NPC will set the stage for future NPC's you will see in future updates (Quests anyone?)
